Crime Statistics

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is required by State and Federal law to participate in the Uniform Crime Reporting Program.  These crimes are reported monthly to the Georgia Crime Information Center, which in turn reports to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  These reports are used to compile statistical data and provide summarized reports for the Part 1 Crimes.  This data offers the Sheriff's Office an accurate picture of the crimes reported in unincorporated Fayette County.  With this knowledge our Deputies are better able to utilize the resources available to them to be more proactive in preventing serious crimes in our County.

The main grouping of UCR crime classifications (Part 1 Crimes) consist of eight offenses which are criminal homicide, forcible rape, aggravated/simple assault, robbery, burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson.
